Generative AI will revolutionize the teaching, research, and business of Penn. The tools use large language models (LLMs) to create novel content.
ISC manages a range of Generative AI tools for campus with negotiated enterprise contracts including improved security, privacy, and cost. Microsoft Copilot Chat and Grammarly are available at no additional charge over existing Penn agreements, and OpenAI ChatGPT Edu is available for a fee. Each tool is approved for Moderate Risk Data as defined by the Penn Data Risk Classification. The following table provides information on available tools, costs, and data protections.
Many other AI tools are available to the public but are less secure. Our agreements prevent Penn data from being shared back with the vendor for any purpose, including training. Please follow Penn’s Guidance for Use of Generative AI.
