Network Design & Installation provides consultation and project management on the design and installation of reliable, secure, high-volume, standards-based wired PennNet connections. Also available are communications engineering design specifications and requirements for construction and renovation projects. This includes inside building structured cabling and outside building fiber and circuits, both for the core network and specialized networks such as security, point of sale, cameras, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and SCADA.
University faculty, staff, and UPHS
Multimode circuit modifications are not available.
Expedited service is available for all wiring requests, including fiber circuits, at a cost of $580/request with less than 15 business days lead time. Please see our ISC Expediting Fee page for more detail.
Additional one time charges may be required for contractor installation. A minimum of 24 strands will be run to each new location. A minimum of 12 strands must be tipped.
Service level are indicative of "response." Resolution times will remain on a best effort based on the extent of damage/problem.
ISC may at its option build a single mode replacement circuit for any multimode circuit or cable that is damaged. No further response will be provided.
The current rate for this service is based on time and materials. Standard ISC labor rates are charged for this service.

ISC rate increases are generally aligned with University increases.
The ISC rate review process is timed to coincide with the University’s annual budgeting process. Rates are reviewed over the summer, and if any require a change, they are approved for the following fiscal year. ISC will make its best effort to communicate these changes to clients by the end of October to allow for budget updates. Exceptions may occasionally occur (e.g., a vendor changes a pass-through fee midyear), and when they do, ISC will do its best to provide as much lead time for clients as possible.
