The services and information below are aimed at the Penn IT professionals. For getting IT support, please go to the Get IT Help section on this website.

Overview

This service is based on Centrex, the legacy telephony service provided by Verizon, which owns and manages the equipment and software that provides the dial tone and transmits calls.  Verizon continues to make changes and reduce service offerings that the Traditional Telephony service extends to campus, which will affect the way ISC delivers this service. These changes are becoming service impacting to the University.  ISC continues to explore ways to migrate remaining services still supported by Centrex.

Effective July 1, 2025,  ISC will be moving forward to transition any telephone service or circuit that is not a Life Safety Service (LSS) to PennFlex Phone service. For more information, please review the full announcement(link is external).

Please note: We no longer provide new traditional campus fax lines or existing copper fax lines. ISC will work with you to transition any existing copper lines to the PennFlex Phone service.
