Penn’s IT Strategic Plan marks a significant milestone in aligning IT priorities with the University’s overarching strategic framework, In Principle and Practice. The Penn IT Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap to identify shared objectives, foster collaboration and innovation, and drive progress in partnership with Penn’s schools and centers.
The plan has four strategic areas, named in the boxed links below. Several strategies focus each of these themes. Strategic initiatives have already been completed to advance the strategies and more are being added. Each initiative also supports one or more of the practices defined by In Principle and Practice.
For 2025, we have prioritized resources for initiatives that deliver university-wide benefits. Key strategic initiatives include the Penn Advanced Research Computing Center (PARCC), the Snowflake data warehouse, AI tools and training, and Penn SecureIT.
